Sidney Smeets became a member of the bar in Utrecht in 2001. Before that he worked in the Lower Chamber in The Hague and read law in Leiden.
After he joined the bar he worked as a lawyer in Utrecht for eight years specializing in general criminal law, cassation and legal assistance to under-age defendants.
Since the middle of 2009 he has been active as a lawyer for Spong Advocaten in Amsterdam where he specializes in criminal cases.
